I started my career as a criminal defence lawyer, driven by a fierce sense of justice and a deep commitment to those most affected by systemic harm. I was determined, relentless, intellectually sharp - everything the legal world demanded. But like many highly sensitive people, I was also burning out from trying to be invulnerable while caring so deeply.
By my mid-twenties, I was high-achieving, exhausted and disconnected. I took time off and travelled to Central America seeking space, perspective and healing.
In Cuba, something happened that changed everything.
Despite a strong intuitive "no," I agreed to go horseback riding. Mid-trip, I was hit by a tractor in a remote area. My injuries were critical: a punctured lung, internal bleeding and a shattered leg. I remember lying in a field, body broken, lung collapsing, knowing I was close to death.
But what I experienced in that moment wasn't fear. It was something else: a profound sense of oneness. A calm, all-encompassing love. A dissolving of self into something infinitely larger...and utterly peaceful.
That moment cracked something open in me. I couldn't go back to life as it was - couldn't keep compartmentalizing my sensitivity, couldn't keep being strategically tough while ignoring my inner compass.

That moment cracked something open in me. I couldn't go back to life as it was - couldn't keep compartmentalizing my sensitivity, couldn't keep being strategically tough while ignoring my inner compass.
What followed were years of healing and reorientation: physical, emotional and spiritual. I had to learn how to walk again. To trust myself. To return to the world without losing the deeper truth I had touched.
I worked in humanitarian and community development spaces, supported trauma recovery with refugees, trained in psychological and spiritual traditions...and lived inside the long, often solitary practice of remembering how to listen to myself.
I didn't just change careers. I changed the way I related to everything: my body, my inner voice, the living world around me - and what it truly means to lead.
It wasn't about becoming incredible. It was about becoming whole.
Not more than me. Just more of me.

Prior to my coaching and psychological work, I contributed to child protection, justice reform, and rights-based development across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Working with organisations including UNICEF and Save the Children, I facilitated workshops, developed policy tools, and presented at international conferences on criminal justice, children's rights, and gender-based violence.
This work took me from Australian courtrooms to regional policy development, always focused on systemic change that honours human dignity and creates meaningful protection for the most vulnerable.

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I live, work and play, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples and their ongoing connection to land, waters, culture, and community.
